I want to play using the DPAD because that is how I used to play it in my childhood (on a knock off Famicom compatible system) and I would like the chance to use a cheat code for extra lives so I can finally see the more advanced stages of the game, but I can't find a combination of core/settings that will enable me to do that and I'm very confused. Along the lines of RIP-Felix' suggestion you might also consider taking RetroArch for a spin. Yea, I am using Nestopia on Windows XP as well.
